Edinburgh Information

Edinburgh, our capital city and second largest city in Scotland.

The Old Town and New Town districts of the City became World Heritage Sites in 1995. Over a million tourists vist the city each year. Popular attractions include Edinburgh Castle, The National Museum of Scotland and The Palace of Holyrood House.

If you are a first time visitor to the city then an open top bus tour is a good place to start. These depart from the road outside of Waverley Station (view on map here).

On the Royal Mile you will find numerous attractions. Start at the Castle and head towards Holyrood.

The Scotch Whisky Experience - learn almost everything you need to know about whisky.

John Knox House - believed to have been owned and lived in by John Knox, the Protestant Reformer.

Camera Obscura - a fascinating way to view the city (best on sunny and clear days).
